XJ-SC Replacing Rear Parcel Locker With Rear Seats
Remove the rear lockers and back panel, all just held in with Philips Head screws. |
The seats just clip straight in, all the necessary holes are already there. The seat back has three metal prongs at the top which slide into slots at the top of the rear section of the car, and two plates are at the bottom for retaining screws. The seat squab pushes in under the seat back, and two retaining screws are below front edge of squab. |
Tapped seat belt holes are already in the car. Buy a set of retractable seat belts and fit. I put the seat belt holder retractor units in the centre on top of the rear parcel shelf, and the anchor end of each in the centre at the bottom of the rear seat back. All holes are there tapped to take the seat belt bolts. |
The buckle end I fixed to the outside inner edge of the car behind the rear quarter trim, and passed the buckle through the rear quarter trim. Again, all the holes are there tapped to take the seat belt bolts. The only other items you need to get from the wreckers are the rear arm rest pads to fit on each side of the rear quarter trim, again the holes for the retaining screws are already in the rear quarter trim. |
